Some of the top new year resolutions are weight loss or to embark on a new health and fitness journey. Many of us will break these resolutions before the year is out \u2013 a third won\u2019t make it to the end of January.\u00a0 However, it is possible to stick to these resolutions and goals. So this year let\u2019s stop the cycle and try to stick to our health and fitness resolutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"background-color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Lose weight\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This is probably the most popular resolution and for many the most difficult to commit too. But you can succeed if you keep your resolutions realistic and achievable &#8211; don\u2019t expect overnight success. If you set yourself unrealistic unattainable goals then you will be setting yourself up for failure. Make some basic changes and alterations to your lifestyle &#8211; this way you are more likely to stick to your goals.\u00a0 Keep a food journal to help you keep track of what you eat and have a support system in place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"background-color: #ff0000; color: #ffffff;\">\u00a0<strong>Reduce stress and worry less!<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">It is extremely difficult to have a completely stress free lifestyle, but for some people the effects of stress go beyond feelings of anxiety and discomfort. \u00a0The stress can leave them feeling emotional and also affect their appetite and leave them feeling ravenously hungry. This then can lead to weight gain which can further lead to more stress. But if stress is chronic, it can increase your risk of\u2014or worsen\u2014insomnia, depression, obesity, heart disease, and more.\u00a0 Make time to give your body and mind a rest and time to relax.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"background-color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"background-color: #ff0000; color: #ffffff;\"><strong>Get more sleep<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Research shows that sleep is very important for weight loss. Most people understand a good night\u2019s rest can do wonders for our mood and appearance, but not much is mentioned about the importance of sleep for weight loss and for good health in general.\u00a0 Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, and can benefit your heart, weight, mind, and more. If you are struggling to lose weight maybe you should have a look at your sleeping habits too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><span style=\"background-color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Reward Yourself.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Once you get closer to reaching your set resolution reward yourself. This doesn\u2019t mean eat junk food or a box of chocolates. Instead, celebrate your success by treating yourself to something you enjoy that doesn\u2019t contradict your resolution \u2013 a reward that won\u2019t undo your hard work such as; \u00a0you could reward yourself with new fitness clothing, choose a weekend getaway or treat yourself to a beauty,\u00a0 spa treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"background-color: #ff0000; color: #ffffff;\"><strong>\u00a0Be patient<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Be patient with yourself and don\u2019t set yourself unrealistic fitness or weight loss resolutions i.e. to exercise every day, twice a day!\u00a0 Every so often give your body a rest. Don&#8217;t get discouraged with slow progress or setbacks. \u00a0Results won\u2019t happen overnight, so be persistent and patient &#8211; plan and prepare and be consistent!\u00a0 Setbacks are completely fine, and the main thing is you get back on track.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The key to sustainable resolutions is to set small goals and changes gradually and make your New Year resolutions manageable.
