The day raises awareness and addresses issues on mental health on a global scale. Each year is accompanied by a specific theme, 2016 will address the theme of \u201cDignity in Mental Health-Psychological &amp; Mental Health First Aid for All.\u201d This aims to fulfil the goal of destigmatising mental health so that people are confident in handling the taboo, isolation and discrimination that people with mental health must face.<\/p>\n<p>Various activities you can take part in to raise awareness include \u2018Tea and Talk\u2019 where you invite friends and family over for tea and cakes and ask them to make a donation to the Mental Health Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Mental health is a pressing issue in the UK, suicide is the most common cause of death in the country for men aged 20-49 years old. Suicide and self-harm is linked to mental health.
