A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after four lorries and four cars crashed on Wednesday. The said man has been released on bail.<\/p>\n
A man was flown by air ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and is being treated for serious injuries. 11 people have reportedly been treated for minor injuries.<\/p>\n
Chief Inspector Henry Parsons, head of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said, \u201cOur thoughts are with anyone affected by this tragedy.<\/p>\n
\u201cCan I ask anyone who witnessed the collision, including anyone travelling on the southbound carriageway who saw anything they believe is significant, to contact police.\u201d<\/p>\n
The crash occurred between Chieveley and East Ilsley causing a six-mile tailback on the Northbound carriageway.<\/p>\n
The Northbound reopened after over 12 hours whilst the Southbound carriageway was closed for about five hours.<\/p>\n
