{"id":15486,"date":"2016-07-01T15:08:38","date_gmt":"2016-07-01T14:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=15486"},"modified":"2016-07-01T15:13:52","modified_gmt":"2016-07-01T14:13:52","slug":"love-your-neighbour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2016\/07\/01\/love-your-neighbour\/","title":{"rendered":"Love Your Neighbour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u2018Love Your Neighbour\u2019 campaign launched on Friday 1<sup>st<\/sup> July outside Birmingham City Council House in Victoria Square.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign that inspires people to \u2018do something kind today\u2019 was initiated after several new reports of an upsurge in racism and hate crimes.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Love Your Neighbour\u2019 banners will be exhibited around the city and members of the public are encouraged to record acts of kindness on a campaign website and through social media.<\/p>\n<p>Fred Rattley, director for community regeneration at Church of England Birmingham, CEO of Thrive Together Birmingham and member of Birmingham Partners, has been hugely involved in the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThis is a coalition of different groups in the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a sign of solidarity and we hope it sends out a strong message to people across the city regardless of their background.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would encourage businesses, as well as members of the public to display the banner.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u2018Love Your Neighbour\u2019 campaign launched on Friday 1st July outside Birmingham City Council House in Victoria Square.
