A courageous student at Solihull Sixth Form College will be flying to Zimbabwe this coming summer to volunteer with the ICS (International Citizen Service).<\/p>\n
Ibrahim Rashid is taking a gap year after finishing his A Levels and will be going to Zimbabwe for the Restless Development Programme from September for 12 weeks.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old Brummie will be living with other people and working with a team of volunteers on sexual and reproducive health and rights programmes throughout his stay.<\/p>\n
Ibrahim said: \u201cI\u2019m really pleased to have been accepting into this programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will be provided training before I head out with a group of volunteers and I will be helping local businesses grow, help to protect the environment, and provide health education.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Restless Development Programme which targets 18-25 year olds will see Ibrahim progress in his team work and communication skills while helping a developing country.<\/p>\n
The government funds 90% of all Restless Development programmes \u2013 Ibrahim has to raise a minimum of \u00a3800 to cover flights, food, accommodation and any other essential equipment.<\/p>\n
