It was our first choice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to make a warm series about parenting and what it means to bring up a child in the UK now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny family can walk through the door at any time, it\u2019s a real leveller. Everything is heightened when you step inside, it\u2019s an extreme but wonderful place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Preparations for the series started approximately three years ago. Planning took a year, with a number of staff meetings, then patients who were followed for up to 18 months.<\/p>\n<p>Emma Loach says: \u201cYou can\u2019t just turn up with a camera and expect to film.
