{"id":13609,"date":"2016-04-20T12:22:07","date_gmt":"2016-04-20T11:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=13609"},"modified":"2016-04-20T12:23:05","modified_gmt":"2016-04-20T11:23:05","slug":"jimmy-spices-closes-its-doors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2016\/04\/20\/jimmy-spices-closes-its-doors\/","title":{"rendered":"Jimmy Spices Closes its Doors for Good"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Buffet restaurant chain, Jimmy Spices has closed its doors in three prime Midland locations, with owners adding it will not re-open.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurants in Lower Parade, Sutton Coldfield; Station Road in Solihull and Windsor Street in Stratford-upon-Avon closed their doors for good on March 7<sup>th<\/sup>, costing around 100 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018all you can eat\u2019 restaurants offered a diverse buffet-style dining experience, serving variations of Indian, Oriental, European and American food, celebrating the diversity of cuisines from all over the globe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/timthumb.php_.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-13611\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13611\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/timthumb.php_.jpg\" alt=\"timthumb.php\" width=\"728\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/timthumb.php_.jpg 728w, https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/timthumb.php_-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/timthumb.php_-696x440.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/timthumb.php_-665x420.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Director Jaswinder Choongh said: &#8220;The restaurants have closed and will not be re-opening again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The two main reasons for the closure were the overheads of running such big restaurants and the emergence of cheaper imitations which have taken a larger share of the market.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8220;&#8221;I&#8217;d like to thank customers for coming to Jimmy Spices over the years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We feel sorry that we have let them down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The concept was based on the original Broad Street based restaurant, which was founded in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The Regency Wharf establishment will not be affected by the closures and will remain open, due to being operated by the separate East &amp; West Restaurants Midlands.<\/p>\n<p>The three closing restaurants confirmed they were under operation of Peppercorn Leisure group, at the time of closure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Buffet restaurant chain, Jimmy Spices has closed its doors in three prime Midland locations, with owners adding it will not re-open.
