{"id":12569,"date":"2016-02-19T14:26:21","date_gmt":"2016-02-19T14:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=12569"},"modified":"2016-02-19T14:28:07","modified_gmt":"2016-02-19T14:28:07","slug":"small-business-big-success-offering-smes-20000-prize-package","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2016\/02\/19\/small-business-big-success-offering-smes-20000-prize-package\/","title":{"rendered":"Small Business Big Success offering SMEs \u00a320,000 prize package"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>For the second year in a row, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.intuit.co.uk\/index.jsp\">Intuit<\/a> QuickBooks is on the hunt for the best success stories among small business in the West Midlands.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From butchers and builders, to hairdressers and IT consultancies, the firm\u2019s \u2018Small Business Big Success\u2019 competition aims to uncover local business heroes who are working hard to achieve success in whatever form matters to them.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Williams, who is European director of finance at the firm, which sells accounting software, said: \u201cWe\u2019re looking to celebrate the everyday triumphs in starting, running and growing a business and support those looking to get to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to uncover genuine success stories \u2013 from delighting customers and exceeding targets to expanding the team or closing a significant deal \u2013 whatever has been the achievement they\u2019re most proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Businesses have until 29 February to enter. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at a gala dinner at Villa Park on 22 March.<\/p>\n<p>As well as \u00a310,000 in prize money, winners will receive a full page article in the Birmingham Post; LED advertising and hospitality at the Aston Villa v Southampton fixture, an exhibition opportunity at a future Birmingham Chamber of Commerce event, a free QuickBooks Online subscription for 12 months and expert clinic sessions with accountant, marketing and social media specialists.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the inaugural competition was Keon Heidarinia, co-owner of Boo Boo Coffee in Harborne, who said: \u201cWe weren\u2019t the highest profile or most profitable business in the competition but the judges liked our story.
