Renowned as the UK&#8217;s most modern comedienne with her unique style, her quick fire and hilarious routine is one not to miss. <\/font><\/font><\/font> <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"> <font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Shazia was born in Birmingham, to first generation Pakistani parents. In her earlier days\u00a0she started her career as a science teacher, whilst secretly developing writing, acting and\u00a0comedy skills\u00a0at drama school,\u00a0with late night gigs across the country. Her performance on the <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Have I Got News for You<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">, made her friends and family\u00a0realise\u00a0the extent of Shazia&#8217;s ambitions. Her comedy delivery style of\u00a0fusing contemporary issues with her\u00a0personal experiences, blends with her taboo-breaking, deadpan\u00a0style.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"> <font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Shazia started to get recognition for her comedy, in 2003 she was listed in <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">The Observer<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy and won the <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">GG2 Young Achiever of the Year Award<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">. Her TV work followed in the UK and States when in 2007 she present on BBC3 documentary called <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">F*** Off, I&#8217;m a Hairy Woman<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">. She&#8217;s had other TV credits <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Muslim Driving School<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> (Voiceover BBC2 2010), <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Beautiful People <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">(BBC2 2009), <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Richard and Judy<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> (Channel 4 roving reporter 2007) to name a few. Shazia has had a number of radio appearances, which include a regular slot on BBC Radio Scotland and <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">The Now Show<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> on BBC Radio 4.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"> <font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">She has performed her stand up shows across the world, from the <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Edinburgh Fringe<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> to <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font size=\"3\">Texas<\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">, <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font size=\"3\">USA<\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> to <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font size=\"3\">Dubai<\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> and <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font size=\"3\">Kosovo<\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">, as well as, travelling extensively across Europe, where she is in great demand.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"> <font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Shazia is an active write, having formerly penned a fortnightly column for <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">The New Statesman<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\"> for which she won <\/font><\/font><\/font><strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">Columnist of the Year 2008 <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/strong><font color=\"#000000\"><font><font size=\"3\">at the prestigious PPA Awards.
