Despite the adversities and challenges these new migrants faced in this new country, many women recollect these years with fondness. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe are delighted to have been part of this project in collating these wonderful stories and experiences and hope that they will give inspiration to others and to our future generations,\u201d said Yasmin Akhtar, Director of Go-Woman! Alliance Community Interest Company.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThe Community Gallery at Birmingham Museum &amp; Art Gallery has a rich programme of exhibitions which tell untold stories and celebrate forgotten histories. <em>Home away from Home<\/em> is full of fascinating stories and rich, vibrant photographs of Mirpur and Birmingham which will provide a really memorable experience for our visitors,\u201d said Richard Statham, Community Engagement Manager, Birmingham Museums.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><em>Home away from Home<\/em> has been created thanks to a Heritage Lottery Fund-funded oral history project and developed by Go-Woman! Alliance Community Interest Company in partnership with Birmingham Museums Trust.
