{"id":10577,"date":"2014-04-29T11:47:48","date_gmt":"2014-04-29T11:47:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2014\/04\/29\/gdp-gives-reason-for-optimism\/"},"modified":"2014-04-29T11:47:48","modified_gmt":"2014-04-29T11:47:48","slug":"gdp-gives-reason-for-optimism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2014\/04\/29\/gdp-gives-reason-for-optimism\/","title":{"rendered":"GDP Gives Reason for Optimism"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Welcomes Decision <\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" width=\"570\" height=\"225\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/gdp-growth-2014-570x225.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Business leaders welcomed today\u2019s announcement that the GDP figure for the first quarter of 2014 has risen by 0.8 per cent, to its highest level in nearly four years, which indicates a move to 2008 times of economic stability. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Tim Pile, president of Birmingham Chamber of Commerce said:\u00a0 \u201cToday\u2019s GDP figure gives us a reason to be optimistic as we move further into 2014.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cOther indicators such as inflation and unemployment are also moving in the right direction and this could mean a possible interest rate rise is now on the horizon, which has been kept to a record low of 0.5 per cent.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThe British Chambers of Commerce upgraded its GDP forecast to 2.7 per cent for 2014, which is a significant and welcome move. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cHowever, more can be done.
