{"id":10243,"date":"2015-01-09T17:04:05","date_gmt":"2015-01-09T17:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/01\/09\/speeding-through-the-ranks\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T17:16:11","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T17:16:11","slug":"speeding-through-the-ranks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2015\/01\/09\/speeding-through-the-ranks\/","title":{"rendered":"Speeding Through the Ranks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Zubair Steps Closer to F1 Dream <\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" width=\"458\" height=\"191\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Zubair-Haq-570x225.458x191.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Zubair Hoque is one lap closer to achieving his Formula One ambitions after finishing as the \u2018top rookie\u2019 in the standings of the 2014 BRDC Formula 4 Winter Series Championship.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Hale, Cheshire, based teenager, who drove for team HHC Motorsport, crowned this year\u2019s debut in single-seater racing by closing an impressive fifth overall in the current F4 standings, despite competing against vastly more experienced drivers.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He is the only British Asian in single-seat formula racing. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club) F4 Winter Series was hotly contested, attracting drivers from as far away as Brazil and Mexico over the Snetterton and Brands Hatch circuits and it served as a \u2018shakedown\u2019 in preparation for the 2015 F4 Championship.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Zubair had his first outing in the one\u2013make F4 category &#8211; and made an instant impression.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cHe showed flashes of promise on his first car racing weekend at Snetterton,\u201d says HHC\u2019s Commercial Director Charlie Kemp,\u201c and put in an excellent performance despite treacherous track conditions.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cZubair has since shown consistent and steady improvement over the remainder of the Series and I expect great things for him in the 2015 F4 Championship which launches at Oulton Park in April of next year.\u201d<span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>No stranger to track success, Zubair,18, has clocked up an impressive tally of finishing positions and lap records over a 10 year, progressive career in kart racing, before making his move into F4 in October.
