{"id":10060,"date":"2013-10-23T12:57:09","date_gmt":"2013-10-23T12:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2013\/10\/23\/amir-khan-pays-a-visit-at-the-marie-curie-hospice-in-bradford\/"},"modified":"2013-10-23T12:57:09","modified_gmt":"2013-10-23T12:57:09","slug":"amir-khan-pays-a-visit-at-the-marie-curie-hospice-in-bradford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2013\/10\/23\/amir-khan-pays-a-visit-at-the-marie-curie-hospice-in-bradford\/","title":{"rendered":"Amir Khan Pays a Visit at The Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Has The Champ met his match?<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"225\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/Amir-Khan-Bradford-460x225.jpg\"\/><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong>Amir <\/strong><strong>Khan, two time former Light-Welterweight World Champion, visited the Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford to the delight of patients and staff. <\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The boxing champ took time out to meet patients, staff and volunteers at the hospice and help raise awareness of the care the hospice provides to people across Bradford and Airedale.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0The Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford provides expert care and the best possible quality of life for local people with terminal illnesses and vital support for their families, all completely free of charge. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0Amir met patients Jim Bannon, 64, David Owen, 66, and Jimmy Walsh, 86, as well as staff including Elaine Hill, the Hospice Manager and Dr Sarah Holmes the Medical Director at the hospice. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0Speaking about his visit Amir said: \u201cIt\u2019s a brilliant place. I walked in and couldn\u2019t believe how nice it was. If people are ill or they need help, they\u2019ll come here and they\u2019ll be looked after really well. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s nice to put a smile on patient\u2019s faces too. They really appreciate this facility and it really helps having great staff looking after them.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0Sharon Link, Fundraising Manager at the Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford said: \u201cHaving Amir visit the hospice was just fantastic, it really helps to give patients a boost.
