Schools in the England and Northern Ireland will close “until further notice” from Friday 20 March.
Earlier today the same measures were announced in Scotland and Wales as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the UK.
GCSEs and A-level exams are unlikely to go ahead.

It comes as the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases across the world has reached the 200,000 milestone.
