The Signature Awards enters its fourth year and whilst it attracts nominees from all over the UK, the theme this year will be the continuing uncertainty for 2018 both politically and economically and in particular for the Midlands. The awards night on the 16th Feb attracts the movers and shakers from both the business and political worlds’ with the attendance of the brightest entrepreneurial talent in the wider region also in the room.

Whilst the deadline for the awards is the 12th January, its Founder Ninder Johal (who is past president of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and current Board member of the West Midlands Growth Company ) is impressed by the quality of the nominations to date. ‘Despite the uncertainty in the business community on the future of its relationship with the EU, there is still an element of confidence in the growth projections of the UK economy and it is in this vein that I see a similar pattern in the quality and quantity of the submissions to date. There is still a week to go and I would urge those who see an exceptional individual or business to put their names forward so that we can collectively celebrate the quality that the UK can rightly boast about. It is so important that we recognise both those who create wealth and those who enable the process of wealth creation to occur. The business and professional sector play such an important role in both the domestic and overseas markets.

The UK brand is especially associated globally with creativity, media and entertainment and for this reason, we have included a category for the creative and media sector and I am looking forward to seeing more applications from this vibrant sector’.

The Signature Awards will take place on the 16th Feb at the ICC and has already attracted sponsors including Cobra Beer, East End foods, FBC Manby Bowdler, NFU Mutual, MSDUK, Wolverhampton University, Porsche, Pathway Group, Birmingham City University, Vision Print and Rational FX.

The categories include : Excellence in Finance, Excellence in Law, Excellence in Banking, Young Professional of the Year, Excellence in land, Architecture and Property Development, Excellence in Business, Excellence in the Professions for Owner Practices, Excellence in Creative and Media, the Diversity Award and Life time Achievement.
