The relatives of Sajad Hussain have issued a heartfelt statement honouring the ‘loving father’. Meanwhile, police have arrested and charged a 23-year-old man with the murder.
Haroon Rafiq of, Tenby Road, Moseley, was arrested on Wednesday and appeared before Birmingham Magistrates on Friday charged with Mr Hussain’s murder after he allegedly attacked the 40-year-old outside his home on Sunday evening.
The statement from the family read, “Sajad was a loving son, brother, uncle and a devoted dad to his daughter. His sudden loss has left our family shattered. There are no words that express our pain right now. He is deeply missed by everyone who knew him.”
The family appealed to the public for further help in their pursuit of justice,
“We ask all family, friends, local community and the public to keep Sajad in their prayers.
“Please share any information anyone may have, so that justice is served. Thanking everyone for all the support and kindness.”
Detective Inspector Paul Joyce shared the family’s call for more witnesses and information. He said, “Even though we have charged a man, our investigation is very much on-going and I would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed this brutal attack.”
