The Asian Today is honoured to be media partners for the inaugural Education Awards as they announce the launch of their exciting and prestigious awards ceremony. The awards aim to celebrate the outstanding contributors to the academic industry and all those who are making a difference to this important field.

A true landmark occasion, these awards will be the first of its kind in the Midlands. Education plays a huge role in everyone’s lives, with those making purposeful strides deserving to be celebrated.

The esteemed ambassadors for the awards are Suzanne Virdee and Gary Poulton, with Andy Street and Paul Faulkner set to deliver keynote speeches on the night.

The Education Awards firmly believes industry should work in partnership not only within the academic field but also with the community.

Principal of South & City College, Mike Hopkins, has said, ‘I am delighted to be involved in The Education Awards which offer an ideal opportunity and platform for industry and education to work together in the form of live projects.  Coupled with industry links, winners will be working on projects set by the sponsors which will be filmed and showcased for next year’s event.

This is a fantastic occasion, not only for students but for the region as a whole, and I look forward to judging contributions and celebrating with award winners in 2017.’

There will be sixteen categories in total, with each category having an industry sponsor.

The award categories include Educational Supporter of the Year, Teacher/ Lecturer of the Year and Most Innovative Teacher of the Year as well as many others.

The awards take place on 7th July 2017 at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground and nominations are now open.
