Three people have died after a shooting in Spalding. At around 9am at the Castle Swimming Pool, locals heard three shots coming from the pool’s car park. Though unconfirmed, it is thought a man shot his wife and daughter before shooting himself.

The shooter is believed to be 57 year old Lance Hart. The victims include Claire Hart, 50, and daughter Charlotte Hart, 19, who was training to be a midwife.

An air ambulance was called to the incident followed by armed police.

A police spokesman said “we can confirm that there has been a firearms incident on Pinchbeck Road in Spalding in the vicinity of the Castle Swimming Pool, in which three people have been fatally wounded, including the suspected offender. There is an ongoing police investigation and at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

“There is no indication that this is a terrorist related incident and no shots have been fired by police.”

Superintendent Paul Timmins (pictured) of Lincolnshire Police said a specialist police unit is now involved.

Police have conducted a raid on a property in Moulton and according to the leader of the South Holland District Council, Lord Gary Porter, the incident is domestic.

Gary Taylor, District councillor, said “it’s terrible news and local people are very shocked. It’s a very quiet place, gun crime does not exist in this area at all.”

Jeremy Corbyn tweeted “shocking events in Spalding, Lincolnshire. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
