On 12 March, over 120 people attended a high level reception to endorse the work of Sporting Equals at the House of Commons, welcoming a wide range of MPs, peers, member organisations, sports providers as well as grass-roots and elite level performers.

Headline speakers endorsing the work of Sporting Equals at the event were Denise Lewis OBE, former Olympic Gold Medallist and Sol Campbell the former England International footballer and the only player to have represented England in six consecutive major tournaments.

New Sport England strategy ‘Towards an Active Nation’ triples investment to tackle inactivity, £250 million over four years as part of new strategy to support grassroots sport.

More than one in four people in England do less than 30 minutes of physical activity a week. But research shows that those who do the least activity stand to benefit the most, even if it’s just small changes like gentle jogging, swimming or playing rounders in the park.
