Final shooting took place in Birmingham of Kingsman: The Golden Circle from Sunday 15th May to Wednesday 18th May. The film is a follow up of Kingsman: The Secret Service and the film set is using some of the streets off Colmore Row.

The second unit director has shot exciting action-packed sequences, including gunfire and remarkable stunt scenes.

One of the scenes featured a formidable taxi with a V8 engine gliding down Colmore Row, driven by Champion Rally Driver. Chasing the taxi were three brand new Jaguar 4x4s.

The atmosphere was electric, many onlookers said the set was fabulous, with the clear, cold weather enhancing the sparkle of the occasion and helping the premium buildings of Birmingham to look nothing less than magnificent.

With a team of 300 involved in the shooting, it was the biggest film shoot that has ever taken place on the streets of Birmingham, with a financial profit worth up to £350,000 for the city.

Taron Egerton is returning as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin and the film is also starring Oscar-winning actresses Halle Berry and Julianne Moore as well as handsome Channing Tatum.

Businesses have had to close down during the filming, including the Michelin-Starred Purnell’s restaurant. Road closures have affected local businesses and residents.

Location Manager, Tom Woods, and FILM Birmingham Manager, Sindy Campbell said: “We wish to confirm details of the second unit filming taking place in Birmingham for a film provisionally titled ‘The Golden Circle’.”

“The film will form part of a car chase and will involve intermittent gunfire.

“We will be operating intermittent pedestrian control whilst we are filming as a health and safety precaution.”

“This may involve short waits of up to 2 to 3 minutes after which, polite pedestrian marshals will escort you to your destination.”

“In order to facilitate our shoot there will be equipment set up in the locations above prior to filming. This will be managed safely and security will be present at all times.”

“We understand that we are guest in your neighbourhood and are putting into place control measures to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.”

“We are really excited to bring this sequence to Birmingham and thank everybody for the help we have received so far.”

It has been an exciting few days, with gun-shots ringing in the air and cars flying down the streets of Birmingham.

None of the actors were taking part in the shooting since they were all stunt scenes. The film is set to release on 17th June 2017.
