London, 19th May, 2016 — ‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’, or so the saying goes. With just days to go until the Star Boot Sale on May 22nd at London’s Truman Brewery, the celebrity donations are piling up!

“We have been overwhelmed by the response” said Dave Rowntree, drummer with the British band Blur, and mastermind of the fundraiser.

“We’ve received all manner of items, ranging from limited edition vinyl, to signed football boots, household items- including bespoke artwork by Pete Doherty – festival tickets and even band’s gold disks.

“On the day there will be bargains on offer from as little as £1. Books and records will start at a fiver – I’ll be selling my drumsticks for £6 – while we’re hoping dresses and other designer pieces donated by Models 1’s stable of celebrities including Erin O’Connor, Olivia Palermo, and  Amber Le Bon will go for a bit more than that! Some of Zebra One gallery’s items should raise hundreds.

“But come down and see for yourself; celebrities including Badly Drawn Boy, KT Tunstall, Erin O’Connor, Mel C and Hot Chip will be there and encouraging a spot of haggling. It will be a real car boot sale experience – but with celebs, and proper nosh.”

For those not able to attend the event, there is still time to get involved – an online auction launches today in association with the app Shpock. It is listing items ranging from Chris Martin’s FX pedal, to Take That tickets, a rare signed Stone Roses ‘Lemons’ poster and even personal jumpers donated by ex-One Direction-er, Zayn Malik.

Building on the success of the inaugural Star Boot Sale auction in December last year, the aim is to raise vital funds to support the International Rescue Committee’s work providing healthcare for refugees living in Jordan.

Armin Strbac, co-founder of Shpock said: “We are urging everyone to get involved. Whether you come along to the event or bid online, not only could you pick up a piece of music history – or Russell Brand’s leather trousers – but you’ll be safe in the knowledge that every penny raised will go straight to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people.”
