Issue 195

Hello!

How is it February already? Too many events, too many projects and too many plans, an exciting start to the New Year at The Asian Today hub. We start the month with the British Army making a historical plea to British Muslims to enlist as soldiers. Currently, Asian and minority ethnic groups make up a total of just 10% of the Army, a figure which Sir Nicholas Carter, Head of the Army would like to expand.

We also report on a newly launched campaign to raise awareness around Alzheimers in the Asian community, a campaign we are proudly associated with. Continuing the theme of promoting awareness of health-related issues we covered the story of Dushyant Mehta, the 10-year-old in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.

Interviews in this issue include East is East actor Ashley Kumar, Comedian Omar Regan, Desi Rascals Director Gurinder Chaadha, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, radio DJ’s Sunny and Shay and Octavian CEO, Sukhi Ghuman. Phew!

The sports section carries a special feature showcasing the upcoming Cricket World Cup, starting February 14. Who will you back?
