Birmingham student charged over murder

A BIRMINGHAM student has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of a pregnant teenager in Bury.

Harmohinder Kaur Sanghera, 22, of Monastery drive, Solihull, will appear next at Manchester Crown Court on July 13 where she will enter a plea.

She has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Sana Ali who was stabbed to death at her home in Bury, Greater Manchester, on May 11.

Mrs Ali was pregnant at the time of her murder.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mrs Ali died as a result of stab wounds to the chest and the abdomen.

Mrs Ali’s 24-year-old husband Sair Ali and a 16-year-old youth were also questioned in connection with the murder.

They were due to answer bail but have been told they will not face any charges.
